Neligh City Hall

Neligh City Hall is the municipal office for Neligh, Nebraska, at 202 Main Street. Neligh is the county seat of Antelope County, population 1,536. Platted 1873 by John D. Neligh on 520 acres along the Elkhorn River; county seat from Jan 1 1884. Operates Neligh Municipal Power, a city-owned electric utility with about 6.5 MW of local generation. Also runs the police department, a Dial-A-Ride transit service, and Fred Penn and Riverside Parks. Neligh Mill, a two-story brick flour mill from the town's founding, is a Nebraska State Historical Site. Laurel Hill Cemetery holds the grave of White Buffalo Girl, a Ponca child who died during the 1877 forced removal; residents have tended it ever since. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
