Dawes County Driver License Office

The Dawes County Driver License Office is run by the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles at Courthouse, 451 Main St, Chadron. It is open every Monday and Tuesday, except the Last Tuesday of the Month, 9:00 - 12:00, 12:45 - 4:00 (Mountain Time). Drive tests are not given between 11:45 AM and 12:45 PM, or after 3:45 PM. CDL skills tests are given at this office by appointment; ring 402-471-7983 to arrange one. Business handled here includes new, renewal and replacement driver's licenses, state ID cards, learner's permits, school and farm permits, and written knowledge and drive tests. Vehicle titles and registration are a separate matter, handled by the Dawes County Treasurer at 451 Main Street, PO Box 790, telephone 308-432-0105 - not at this office.
