Description

Lake Alice is a 752-acre reservoir with nearly 6 miles of shoreline in Scotts Bluff County, Nebraska, formed by two dams built under the Bureau of Reclamation's North Platte Project. It lies almost entirely within the North Platte National Wildlife Refuge, about 9 miles north of Scottsbluff along Nebraska Highway 71. The western side is an undisturbed bird sanctuary closed to the public; the eastern side allows seasonal public access (daylight hours, May 16–September 30) with no facilities or improvements, and the lake substantially drains in the non-irrigation season. Note: this Nebraska reservoir is unrelated to the separate Lake Alice National Wildlife Refuge in Ramsey/Towner Counties, North Dakota.
