The Omaha VA Medical Center at 4101 Woolworth Ave., at 42nd and Woolworth, opened in 1950 and is part of the VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System, which serves about 55,000 veterans a year. Its $86 million Ambulatory Care Center, opened in August 2020, was the first VA facility built with a mix of federal money and local donations.
