Antes Family Hardware at 350 5th Street in Syracuse exists because Tim and Carlie Antes bought the town’s Do It Best store in July 2023 and reopened it on Black Friday that year to keep a hardware store in Syracuse. It carries the trade back to the old Post Brothers Hardware Store. Paint with color mixing, spray, chalk and acrylics; key cutting including double-sided and matched keys; screen repair and glass cutting, which many small stores have given up; plus lawn and garden, plumbing, electrical and home goods.
