Butler County runs this service out of David City for older residents, people with disabilities and, explicitly, everyone else: the county's own summary states that anybody can ride. Beyond local journeys there are set days when the bus goes through to Lincoln and Omaha, which for a county with no rail and no intercity coach is the practical way to reach a specialist appointment. Those long runs are booked by appointment and cost eleven dollars to Lincoln and twelve to Omaha. Trips that are not on a scheduled route are charged by distance, at forty cents a mile, and a sliding scale exists for anyone who needs it. The office answers between 8:30 and 4 on weekdays.
