York County Fair

The York County Fair is held at the York County Fairgrounds on Nebraska Avenue in York over four days in early August. Its grandstand card is unusually motor-heavy for a fair of its length: tuff trucks, figure-eight racing and go-kart races run alongside a cowboy ranch rodeo, mutton busting and a pedal tractor pull, with the D.C. Lynch carnival on the midway. Livestock shows cover sheep, dairy goats, poultry, beef, swine and rabbits. The fair dates to 1873 and marked its 150th in 2023, the same year York County reached its own sesquicentennial; benches honoring each town in the county were placed on the grounds to mark it.
