Stanton County Fair

The Stanton County Fair is held at the Stanton County Fairgrounds in Stanton at the end of July into early August, with animals checked in midweek and the public fair running Thursday through Sunday. The program takes in horse, rabbit, goat, sheep, cattle and swine shows, two tractor pulls, a demolition derby at the grandstand on the Friday, horse arena games for children and a live band in the beer garden. Sunday is built around a pancake feed, a car show, mud volleyball and team roping rather than a grandstand act. Its companion animal classes take in chickens, rabbits and reptiles as pets alongside conventional livestock. Most animal shows are free; grandstand events charge admission.
