The Otoe County Fair is held on Plum Street in Syracuse from the end of July into early August, run by the Otoe County Agricultural Society. Its motorsports lean toward heritage rather than wreckage: side-by-side UTV races and an antique tractor show on the Sunday rather than a demolition derby. The rodeo, by Rocking Plus Rodeo Company, runs Saturday evening with bull riding and barrel racing, followed by a band at nine. Elsewhere in the week are a carnival, pony cycle races for the under-tens, a little tuggers tractor pull, farmer olympics, a VR gaming trailer, 4-H livestock and companion animal shows, a fashion show and a specialty food auction. The parade falls on Sunday afternoon and the livestock sale on the Monday after the fair closes.
