The Merrick County Fair is held at 1784 Fairgrounds Road in Central City in early August, opening with the 4-H and FFA horse show at seven on the Saturday morning. The week carries livestock shows, carnival rides, live music, food vendors, competitions, grandstand events and family entertainment. The fairgrounds also host National Little Britches Rodeo Association youth rodeo events through the year. Fair information runs mainly through Nebraska Extension in Merrick County and the fair’s Facebook page rather than a dedicated website.
