Cuming County Fair

The Cuming County Fair is held at the Cuming County Fairgrounds in West Point over four days in early to mid-August, and reached its 102nd annual edition in 2024. The grounds carry a permanent piece of heritage most county fairs do not: a restored 1880s bandwagon, now protected in a purpose-built glass enclosure, alongside an on-site historical museum of authentic buildings. A 2024 season also added a 90 by 144 foot livestock building. The fair program has paired a drone light show with a Sunday afternoon polka dance, reflecting the area’s Czech and German heritage, and carries a one-man danger circus, wildlife encounters, tractor pulls, barrel racing, tough trucks, bull riding, concerts, a demolition derby and a Sunday parade.
