Nebraska’s Big Rodeo — July 22–25, 2026

Nebraska’s Big Rodeo in Burwell has been running since 1921 — over a century of cowboy tradition in the Sandhills. Held every July at the Garfield County Fairgrounds, it’s one of the oldest and largest PRCA-sanctioned rodeos in Nebraska.

Four days of PRCA rodeo competition: bull riding, barrel racing, team roping, steer wrestling, and more. The rodeo runs alongside the Garfield County Fair, and Saturday features the downtown Burwell Grand Parade.

Founded in 1921, Nebraska’s Big Rodeo is a cornerstone of the Sandhills summer calendar. Burwell draws competitors and fans from across the region every July. The event is held at the Garfield County Fairgrounds on the south edge of Burwell, with grandstand seating and a full carnival midway during fair week.
