The Scotts Bluff County Fair is held at 130625 County Road E in Mitchell, a town of a few thousand, rather than in Scottsbluff or the county seat of Gering. That catches people out often enough that national fair listings routinely put it in the wrong town. It runs from late July into the first days of August with rodeos, 4-H and FFA exhibits, livestock shows across beef, swine, sheep, goats, rabbits and fiber animals, a junior livestock sale with daily herdsmanship awards, live music, carnival rides and fair food.
