The Box Butte County Fair has been held in Hemingford since 1926, making it one of the longer-running county fairs in the Nebraska Panhandle. It's organized by the Box Butte County Agricultural Society at the county fairgrounds, 1100 Niobrara Street, Hemingford, NE.
Typical fair programming includes a ranch/Barnhart rodeo, a concert, a 5K race, a parade, an antique equipment show, a Bump & Run competition, midway rides and attractions, a "Hops & Berries" event, a queen contest, the Rubber Check Race, the Old Timers Picnic, 4-H and Open Class exhibits, and Family Night. The Multipurpose Hall on the fairgrounds is also available for event reservations year-round.
