The Sheridan County Fair and Rodeo is held at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds in Gordon, not at the county seat of Rushville, and it runs about nine or ten days from mid to late July, making it one of the longest county fairs in the state. It carries a sanctioned PRCA rodeo plus a separate ranch rodeo, which makes it one of the most rodeo-centered fairs in Nebraska as well. Around them run horse, swine, sheep, goat, dairy, cat and dog shows, a quilt show, mutton busting, the livestock sale and a Main Street parade.
