Magdanz Hardware Hank at 114 East Main Street in Pierce has served the town since 1927 and is coming up on a century in one family: Ernest Magdanz from 1939, Lowell and Ernest from 1971, Lowell and Jeff from 1992, with Jadon, Colin, Shanda and Sandra in the business since. For a town this size the service list is remarkable, and it is all published by the store itself: key cutting while you wait, lock rekeying and door lock fitting, custom paint mixing with computer color matching, free assembly and free delivery within Pierce, appliance repair as an authorised GE and Crosley dealer, screen and window repair including glass replacement, mower blade sharpening, underground sprinkler repair, water heater work and water softener replacement. It rents a power rake, lawn edger, power washer and aerator, and it is a staffed UPS shipping point. Departments run from paint and tools through pet and ranch to major appliances. Open weekdays eight to six, Saturday eight to five and Sunday eleven to three. Phone 402-329-6735.
