Camp Lookout, at the corner of 10th Avenue and Elm Street near Boot Hill Cemetery, is said to be the oldest building in Sidney and possibly in the Nebraska Panhandle. Built by the US government in 1867, it first housed commanding officers watching over the railroad, later served as military housing, and in the late 1800s was a brothel. The Boot Hill Cemetery committee has been restoring it.
