Verona Nebraska

Verona is an unincorporated community in Clay County that has had no functioning post office since 1954 and no tracked population in recent censuses.

The origin of Verona's name is genuinely disputed: one account credits an 1884 naming after the Veronica family, while another holds that the community was originally called "Sweden," reflecting its Scandinavian settlers. Both stories persist without a clear resolution.
